On Monday 5 October, representatives from the European Technology Platforms, the European Industrial Initiatives and the European Energy Research Alliance will gather in Brussels to hear about the new Communication on an Integrated Strategic Energy Technology (SET) Plan.
An upgraded SET Plan was adopted this September. It sets out ten research and innovation actions to accelerate the transformation of Europe’s energy systems, create jobs and growth, and ensure European leadership in low carbon technologies. These actions will be designed to fulfil the ‘research and innovation’ objective of the EU’s plan for Energy Union.
The SET Plan’s overall aim is to boost the development and roll-out of low-carbon technologies, as well as reducing the costs involved, coordinating research efforts and helping to finance projects.
At the meeting, attendees will also discuss the governance of the SET Plan, as proposed by the SET Plan Steering Group.
