At this High Level Round Table, the Commission's aim was to listen to practical experience on the implementation of initiatives to create Smart Cities.

The first session centred on energy efficiency in buildings. Participants were able to share their experiences in carrying out energy efficiency projects at city level, how to plan renovation programmes, and how they believe the EU can help.

Session two covered transport solutions and promoting electro-mobility. Participants shared their experiences on integrating e-mobility into urban policies, how to make sure that infrastructure and grid capacity is in place to meet demand, and how the EU can help.

The third session concerned the Covenant of Mayors and their role in smart cities and in making the Paris COP21 a success.
